WATER IMPROVEMENTS

100_0521.JPGWater Main Replacement; City of Estacada, OR
FDG provided topographical survey, base map preparation, design, and  prepared the construction documents and specifications for the construction of 1600 lineal feet of water line replacement for the City of Estacada.
This project entailed replacing various sections of undersized and failing waterline at three different locations within the City of Estacada with new 8-inch pipe. In one section the water line did not satisfactorily meet the required horizontal separation from the existing sanitary sewer line, in which case the new water main was constructed with welded HDPE pipe to meet the state health department codes.

This included the contractor disassembling the treatment tanks, sandblasting the old deteriorating paint and applying a new coating meeting the standards and specifications for potable water.

SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS

Trunk Line Replacement; City of Woodburn, OR
Designed 495LF of 15-inch sanitary sewer to replace a section of pipe that over time was vertically displaced causing a "belly" in the pipe. This project was located in a sensitive riparian area and involved  performing a wetland delineation and preparing the required joint removal-fill permit application. Additionally the site was located in an area identified as of high archeological/ paleotelogical  significance. Therefore our project team included an archeologist to assist with the project and provide oversight during construction. FDG prepared the construction plans and specifications and performed construction inspection.

Highway 26 Sanitary Sewer Extension;   Government Camp, OR

Mill Creek Greenway Multi-Use Pedestrian Trail; City of Woodburn, OR
Provided survey, design and permitting services for multi-use pedestrian path improvements within the Mill Creek Greenway corridor.   Project required a complete topographical survey of City park properties that are located in a contiguous serious for approximately a mile in length. The design required two trail head parking improvements and consideration of creek crossings, wetland impacts, no-rise flood plain analysis and pedestrian safety at four major road crossings. Additionally a public parking lot, trailhead signage, viewing platforms and benches were trail amenities integrated into the design.

Third Street Sidewalk Improvements; City Fairview, OR

Provided the site topographical and right-of-way survey and developed the project base maps. Prepared the construction plans for curb tight sidewalk improvements along 800 lineal feet of 3 rd Street including extending the asphalt pavement to the new curb and modifying the storm collection conveyance system. Project entailed one major pedestrian crossing that utilized a stamped concrete pattern for the crosswalk. This project was unique in that the City used this opportunity to utilize pervious asphalt for the new pavement sections as a test site for future use within the City.

Hawthorn / Ivy Street Improvements; City of Estacada, OR
Prepared preliminary design, construction plans and bid documents for two separate 600 lineal feet street and sidewalk improvements. Improvements included sidewalk, curb, gutter, retaining walls, infiltration rain gardens, new subgrade rock base and asphalt.   This project dealt with incorporating the unique features of the existing residential lots including mature trees, matching driveways, retaining walls, and encroachment issues. Public outreach was a key component to this project as the improvements altered the use of the street and the neighbors were accustomed to.

WATER RESOURCE PROJECTS

Private Industrial Facility, Johnson Creek Bank Enhancement; Portland, OR
Prepared a bank enhancement design as a supplementary action to the primary goal of removing contaminated soils along a bank section of Johnson Creek on private industrial property.   Prepared the City of Portland BES Environmental Review/ Enhancement permit application and site plan.
